A Message from SRP-USA/Canada Executive Committee

It is with great pleasure and privilege that I submit the report of the Sam Rainsy Party Chapter in the United States and Canada. This report focuses on the accomplishments of SRP-USA/Canada on SRP's budget support  in general election July 2008. The current mandate of SRP-USA/Canada is moving closer to an end of its 2007-2008 term.   We have many achievements in which we can be proud of.   For example, in the past 21 months, we have raised substantial amount of money by working in close cooperation with  SRP members and leaders throughout United States and Canada.    We can say that we have served the needs of our party  well during the course of the election

In Beginning of my term, SRP-USA/Canada has faced many challenges. Nevertheless, SRP members throughout the states/provinces never shied away from their commitment to fully support our party's cause  in promoting democracy, social justice and fighting corruption in our homeland.   SRP-USA/Canada has emerged stronger and more than ever ready and prepared  to deal with  future tasks.  From an administrative point of view, SRP-USA/Canada members have accomplished significant goals in improving working relationship and establishing new SRP chapters, including  the youth movement so-called SRYM-USA/Canada.  From a financial stand point, SRP-USA/Canada has not only met, but  in some cases exceeding  its goal target  in providing financial support to SRP-PP.  As highlighted in the 2008 General report, SRP-USA/Canada members, state/provinces and city leaders, and supporters have made their best efforts towards achieving SRP-USA/Canada’s financial commitment to SRP-PP.   Those were some of  the greatest challenges SRP member’s throughout the United States and Canada have ever faced.  Thankfully, our darkest moments have always been blessed with shining inspiration. Due to the persistent efforts of our members, we have rewarded SRP-PP with financial support. This outstanding work from our SRP members and supporters in United States and Canada should be recognized and applauded.

On behalf of the SRP-USA/Canada Executive committee members, I thank each and everyone of you, state/province leaders, members and supporters for your  hard work and continued supports through the years. We also thank and welcome our new members and express our enthusiasm to work with you down the road. The upcoming year promises to be another exciting one for us. SRP has great hope and optimism that your continued support will enable us to meet the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead especially for our fellow Cambodians in our homeland. Please accept my sincere appreciation for your staunch support and commitment to improving the quality of life for our brothers and sisters in Cambodia. We look forward to working with you and your committees in the future.
