SRP-Svay Rieng Provincial Council and family of victim wish to make an appeal to overseas members of the Sam Rainsy Party and compatriots, who love freedom and justice, for financial assistance to help relieve the family of SRP activist, Mr. Som Saron, who was assassinated by unidentified gunmen. The assailants equipped with AK-47 shot our activist at 11:00p.m. on June 6, 2003 in Svay Chek commune, Rumduol district, Svay Rieng province. Mr. Saron was shot 5 times and died instantly at his house. He was survived by his wife and 7 children. Mr. Som Saron's death was politically motivated. He died for the freedom and justice.

SRP and the victim's family would like to express deep gratitude to overseas members of the Sam Rainsy Party and Cambodian compatriots for your donation in helping to relieve the family of Mr. Som Saron, and wish you all with the five blessings of the Lord Buddha: Longevity, Happiness, Healthiness, Prosperity, and Brightness.
